how many stress points do i need?

Posted on

Several people who’ve watched me over the last few months have commented that No wonder you’re throwing up … been sleeping ten hours a day … turned off the answering machine and kept a low profile. Apparently I’ve been amassing stress points by the bushel.  Based on the “Holmes and Rahe Stress Scale”, specific “life change units” (stress points) apply to events during an individual’s past year. Added up they yield a score for a rough estimate of how stress affects health. A score of 300+ means high risk of illness; 150-299+ moderate risk; and 150- slight risk. A quick calculation gives me 411 points. Oy vey!

How about you?
