bringing your body home

Posted on

touchingYour body needs to be held and to hold, to be touched and to touch. None of these needs is to be despised, denied, or repressed. But you have to keep searching for your body’s deeper need, the need for genuine love. Every time you are able to go beyond the body’s superficial desires for love, you are bringing your body home and moving toward integration and unity.

  1. … your post struck a deep cord. So many people my age seem to go throught the motions in relationships … not understanding what it is to be treated with an incredible … tenderness, as if their body were sacred ground, but instead a tool, an accessory: hair colour to be changed, clothes to dress the way their partner like them to etc. Sex, just physical pleasure. I am always at a loss of what to say. that you will meet the right person if you wait, that the real thing will be infinitly deeper. but what can i say?
