arms of love

Hold us

In your arms,

Cradle our lives,

Should we die?

Let Peace

Be our road

To eternity,

Our journeys

Measured by

Innocent time,

Let our tears

Wash away

The fear

That breeds

In the Unconscious

Souls of War,

That they too,

Will know,

The only thing

That is Real

Is LOVE.

Kathleen Arnason resides in Victoria (formerly in Gimli, Manitoba). She sent this poem after seeing the photo on the blog. “The image remains with me and I feel like I am holding not only her but all the children who have had to suffer for this war and wars. I do not hold this as a burden but with love. In my heart she is all of them.”
